This is such a heartbreaking story. I am very sad that people, including you, have to live one day in war situations like yours.

I feel sick to hear that people do things like plant bombs in toys and things that children will pick up. This is evil beyond anything I can comprehend!

You and everyone deserve a life where you are loved, cared for, respected and where you feel safe--like your old life. I am sorry that because of evil design of evil people, you and the millions of others like you, can't have it. It is very sad.

Thank you for sharing your story!

If only we could all be stationary in our happy childhood......where there is just happiness....Reading this my hearts filled with grief and sorrow.....if only god made man think rationally..........

Oh this is so tragically beautiful. I love the loss of innocence expressed here. It's so sad to see the contrast between your lives before and after the war. Please keep writing this story -- a whole memoir even!

You wrote this story beautifully and made me see quite clearly what you lost -- not just physical things -- your nice house, clothes and factory -- but your innocence and joy in the world. A very sad story -- but not unusual in the face of war. Thank you for sharing this.

Dear Susan,
Thanks for giving time and reading my story. All of Afghans faced so many difficulties during war. I have lots of bad memories from war,but the worst one is losting my lovely cousin who was the brilliant student of his school.

Dear Zaralasht,
This is a heartbreaking story. I'm glad you were able to write it down, because that gives you a way to remember it and us a way to share it. What terrible experiences you had and yet you are still able to write so beautifully. Thank you for sharing this.
