Shogofa was born in Kabul and then lived in Mazar-i-Sharif, where she finished high school. She participated in the Foundation Studies Program at American University of Afghanistan. She hopes to complete her college degree and become a lawyer.

I too am one of the actresses who spoke your words out loud to the public in Washington DC last night. Your words and courage, especially with the piece Kill the Silence that I had the privilege to read, moved me tremendously.
I hope that you continue to speak out and kill the silence because I am positive the impact is greater than you or any of us can imagine.
