My Mother’s Day

Today’s the greatest day
It’s the mother day,
but my mom is not with me.

Today, she left Herat for Kabul.
I miss her warm love,
her touch and care.

When she is home,
I feel I have everyone with me.
But now that she’s far away,
I feel no one around me.

When I come home from my office,
the first person who greets me is my mom.

Today, I don’t feel like going home.
I miss you mom—
your love for me.
I wish you to be with me,
and to come back soon.
A mother is God’s greatest gift.
No one can be as nice to me
as my mom.

I love you, Mom…
