Every day, more and more Afghan women are losing freedoms we take for granted, including the fundamental right to tell one’s own story. In this time of shrinking rights for our writers, we need your help more than ever and are extending our Freedom to Tell Your Story campaign, which started on June 15, until August 15, 2011. Please make a donation to bring more Afghan women’s voices to the world through their writing.
All donors will be entered in a drawing to win gifts from authors and artists from around the world. Any amount is welcome, but we suggest a minimum of $20 for this special campaign. These writers—in Kabul, Herat, Jalalabad, and Mazar—need your support. Thank you!
All proceeds go toward our Project activities, which include:
- The AWWP Internet café and salon in Kabul
- Our new Dari workshop and Pashto oral history project
- Expanding AWWP in Herat
- Ongoing mentoring and coaching in online workshops
- The online journal
Help spread the word!
The bloggers and e-publications listed below are helping publicize our campaign. If you are willing to help, please contact rachel@awwproject.org for the specifics. We’ll list you here as well.
Thank you to all our generous partners!
Take a look through this great list of giveaways, and donate today for your chance to be a winner.
