From the moment I first felt alive
I felt everything.
I touched and smelled everything
I wanted.
I thought about things I wanted
To think about.
My body moved where I wanted
It to move
I felt happiness, sadness.
I understood other’s pain.
From the moment I first felt alive
I started changing my life:
From dirty to clean,
Away from savagery,
Away from illiteracy.
I became the inventor
Of my own life,
Began exploring the world
And what I am in it
And why.
I faced my problems,
Changed the world
With my mind.
I proved to myself exactly what I am,
What we all are:
Humans, creatures
Of God.

Oh, dear Seema, I am so very happy to see your beautiful poem in its final form!
You worked so hard on this, and it shows! It is just wonderful, so evocative, somewhat mysterious…
Congratulations!

Beautiful! Makes me want to print it out and hand to random strangers… what a hopeful, revelatory poem. Of course, I’m curious as to when/where exactly this first moment was….but there is something magical about not spelling that out…I don’t *really* need to know, for I can imagine. Well done, Seema.
Hello writer,
I am very happy that I am hearing these words and poems,
I do want to be a writer and write poems, I am a very lettle girl, but I like to be,
great job, Seema K.
Nice work, Seema! You have a beautiful style of expressing yourself. Keep it up!
