Sweet Bird

bluebird

birdies bright, birdies sweet
where do you lie? up in the tree tops
ever so high
as an innocent bird
you bring peace in our lives
and brighten every place

birdie bright, birdie sweet
your position always a foothold,
but you are patient
and resist harm
you are like a candle
that burns bright for all

  1. Thank you for this poem, Zuhal. Reading your words, seeing this bird in my mind’s eye, brings me peace and happiness. Thank you for that.

    Keep up the good work!

Dear Zuhal, how nice! I like that you write of the bird’s effect on our lives yet how it must adapt to the world to make it a brighter place.

  3. Dear Zuhal,
I love your image of a bird! I agree with you, birds do seem to bring us light. Just today I saw a bright red cardinal, a type of bird in America, outside my window. I jumped up to take a photo, but alas, it was too late, as my red birdie had flown away. But I know birdie will come back soon to brighten my day!

    All the best,
    Liz

  4. Hi Zuhal,

I really enjoyed reading your beautiful poem. I particularly enjoyed your vivid use of alliteration. Your words painted the perfect picture. The repetition of sounds made the poem flow in an effortless way. Please keep writing. I would love to hear more of what you have to say.
