The winter came
with singing and dancing
bringing the message of peace
It was a lovely day
cold, but my deep breaths
warmed me and
the snow fell as
I walked to my driving class
The winter wind blew
disheveling my hair
snowflakes kissed my face
my cheeks turned red
my scarf fell from my head
and I wondered why
no one harassed me
for my bare head
Everyone looked so happy
the ground covered by a quilt
as white as the bird of peace
People were cheering
kids were skiing and throwing snow and
I saw smiles on everyone’s face
I wished winter would never end
that the sky would keep on snowing
My heart was beating fast as
I breathed the fresh air
I felt reborn

To rebirth. To peace. And to no one harassing you for your bare head!

You have chosen wonderful words to describe happyness. I wish you all the best and go on writing.
This poem reminds me that the power and beauty of nature connects us. As I look out of my window I see a scene similar to the one you describe. I wonder what kind of winter birds you see and what other animals leave tracks in the snow around you. Is the sky blue or a gray flannel like the sky above me today?
Sitara, Your poem is filled with beautiful images! It is such a happy poem, I love reading it! –Pat
