On December 8th, AWWP joined the Twitter #GBVTeachin to help raise awareness about gender-based violence in Afghanistan.  For four hours, our social media team shared poems and essays by Afghan women writers that offered powerful condemnations of violence as well as visions of hope.  We were proud to share Afghan women’s wisdom and insights in their own words, and believe they made strong contributions to the teach-in efforts. We encourage you to visit our Twitter timeline at @awwproject and liberally RT!  You can also keep the conversation going by checking out the hashtag: #GBVTeachin.

A huge thank you to the #16Days Campaign for inviting us to participate! Special shout-outs to Emily Ce Miller and Biswajeeta Rath who led our #GBVTeachin operation and to Editor-in-Chief Susan Postlewaite for overseeing another incredible selection of #16Days writings on the blog!
