Winter is like a fairytale
When the world wears white clothes
Snow is a white cloth covering all the trees,
Snow is a soft blanket casing rooftops
Snow builds a child’s best friend—a snowman!
Within its bounds, families come together in the snow
Families stay warm around the wood heaters, the cozy sandali
Sweet conversations with a cup of Afghan green tea
Touching snow I feel relaxed
I feel the peace that lingers outside the house
I praise Allah for this beautiful weather He has granted us
People laugh and play in the snow
As the beauty of the season shines through its brightness
The falling snowflakes can be touched, if only for a second
It is the season of light, peace, and togetherness

Your words painted a picture of the beauty of Afghanistan in winter. I felt as if I was there for a moment. A wonderful poem! Nancy
