My voice will teach girls how to be strong,
Bringing brightness to families, homes, and our country.
To all animals, plants, and humanity
I give respect.
Raise your voices and be heard.

The old-minded ones
Do not understand.
Be pretty, act happy, stay at home, they say.
Marriage at 12, 13, or 14,
To husbands we do not love, is wrong.
Use your voices to be heard.

My independence is growing
From within.
I study and reach for success.
I learn from others who have been brave.
My grandmother’s words tell me to stand for my rights
And end discrimination.
Raise your voices and be heard.

Do I have worries?
Yes I do.
If I had to wear a burqa, I think I would die.
Don’t put me in that dangerous cage.
I may be an introvert,
But covering my voice will not work.
Use your voices to be heard.

I will bring hope to my community
With my voice.
Generations who follow will learn to listen to girls
Who remember the past.
Our memories will not be forgotten.
Raise your voices and be heard.
