I am just a little kid.
You take my dream —
A dream of being happy
With my family.
You turn my smile into crying.
My family would not even kill
A little bird!
You have no heart, no feelings!
You don’t know the meaning of love.
I am just a little kid.
My eyes are open all night
Recalling the knock on the door
When you came for my dad.
You destroyed my home!
You bring guns, blood,
Graves and war.
I need my dad. I need his love.
I am just a little kid.

What a beautiful drawing, Nahid. I always love reading your writing and seeing your artwork. I wish you safety and happiness. Best wishes from Ashley
This is a very powerful poem Nahid! I wish you did not have this experience, and like you, I wish that children everywhere did not have to worry about their lives and families. You are a very strong person to be able to write this poem. Please keep writing to let the world know how you feel. And keep drawing too please, it helps the reader to feel the experience in the poem. A warm hug from Holly
Nahid, this is a very powerful poem and the drawing helps to bring the reader understanding. I wish you did not have to experience the Taliban and the violence and hate that they spread. I wish that children everywhere could keep their dreams, happy and warm. Please keep writing and drawing, in that way you can help others regain their dreams. A warm hug to you, Holly
Beautiful, powerful work, Nahid!
