Once upon a time there were two very close friends who died for each other. One was named named Ali and the other was Wali.
They were both honest friends, but because of wrongdoing Ali ended up in court and the judge sentenced him to a stoning in front of the entire village. When the day came, Ali was placed in the village square and people came to throw stones at him and to watch the spectacle.
Everybody there threw stones, some big and others small. Some people were angry, and others only stared at Ali. But Ali did not complain or say anything.
Suddenly Ali saw Wali emerge from the crowd and come closer and closer. In his hand he held a flower which he threw at Ali’s head. Ali uttered a strange noise and said “Akhh! I’ve been hurt.”
Wali was surprised at his reaction, and asked, “Why did you say Akhh and make that noise? I believe my flower never hurts.”
Ali looked Wali deeply in the eyes and told him sadly:
“I didn’t expect you even to throw a flower at me.”
I love this story, and it has served as a lesson to me, not because of the stoning, but because it says something about true friendship. It has taught me the importance of respecting my friends and cherishing them in the deepest part of my heart.
I am proud to say that after hearing this story from my dear father I have never hurt any of my friends. I love them and respect them.
I think that in friendship whatever we do to our friends comes back to us. When we do good, we see good. I always pray for myself and for you, dear reader, that God shall keep our friends alive and give them every happiness they seek.
